Madras Medical College, popularly known as MMC Chennai, was founded in 1835 and is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. It is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the National Medical Commission. By 2025, Collegedunia ranked it 24th in the Medical category, and in 2024, NIRF placed it 10th in the Medical category and 78th in the Pharmacy category.
