Uma Nath Singh Autonomous State Medical College (UNSASMC), located in Jaunpur, is a relatively new government medical institution established in 2021. The college is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow and holds approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC). As a new college, it is yet to feature in national rankings like NIRF, and therefore, official rankings for 2025 or 2026 are not available. This institution was established to improve medical education and healthcare services in the region. The college primarily offers the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program, with an annual intake of 100 students. Admission to this course is highly competitive and is based exclusively on the rank secured in the NEET UG examination. Seats are allocated through the state-level counselling process conducted by Uttar Pradesh's Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DGME). For the 2025-26 academic session, the annual tuition fee for the MBBS course is expected to be around INR 41,000, in line with other state government medical colleges. Since the first batch of students is yet to graduate, placement statistics for 2025 or 2026 are not applicable. After completing their academic tenure, students undergo a compulsory one-year rotating internship, for which they receive a stipend. Following the internship, graduates typically either prepare for postgraduate entrance exams like NEET-PG to pursue specialization or seek employment as medical officers in government or private healthcare facilities.
