IIM Jammu, founded in 2016 by the Government of India, is one of the more recent additions to the network of Indian Institutes of Management. It holds approvals from the UGC and is recognized as a member of the AACSB. In the 2024 rankings, IIM Jammu was placed at 31 by IIRF and 42 by NIRF for management studies. Admissions to IIM Jammu are conducted through entrance exams such as CAT, GMAT, and IIMJAT, with applications being processed online. The institute's flagship program is a two-year MBA, and admission is primarily based on CAT scores followed by a personal interview. The final selection takes into account the candidate's CAT performance, interview outcomes, and overall profile. The program has an intake capacity of 240 students, and the total fee for the MBA is INR 18.86 lakhs. In the 2024 placement season at IIM Jammu, the highest salary package reached INR 31.75 LPA, while the average was INR 15.48 LPA. The marketing domain accounted for 48% of job offers, and the IT & Analytics sector saw 32% of the total offers. The placement drive also resulted in 23 pre-placement offers (PPOs). A total of 154 recruiters took part, including 56 who were new. Some of the prominent recruiters included BNY Mellon, Aditya Birla Group, Thomson Reuters, Unacademy, Cognizant, Wipro, Mahindra, and Swiggy, among others.
