Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College (RKMGEC), previously known as Purulia Government Engineering College, came into existence in 2016 under the establishment of the West Bengal government. It is approved by AICTE and affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly called WBUT. Located in Purulia, West Bengal, India, RKMGEC stands at 450th position out of 500 engineering colleges in India, according to Collegedunia's 2025 ranking. The college provides B.Tech programs in five different specializations. Admission is secured through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE).
