

Murshidabad Medical College, a government medical institution, was founded in 2012. It is situated in Berhampore Town within the Murshidabad district. The associated hospital extends preventive, diagnostic, and curative healthcare services to residents of Murshidabad, Birbhum, and parts of northern Nadia. Spanning over 32 acres, the college campus is notably expansive. Affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, it holds recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal (SMFWB). The college offers an MBBS program at the undergraduate level alongside various paramedical diploma courses. Additionally, it provides training programs in Nursing, particularly General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). Admission to the college is determined through the NEET UG, along with the entrance exam administered by the state of West Bengal for paramedical courses known as SMFWBEE.
