Pithapur Rajah’s College, established in 1884, holds the reputation of being one of the oldest higher education institutions in South India. Nestled in the heart of Kakinada, the college is recognized with the College with Potential Excellence status by the UGC because of its innovative academic models. It aims to weave education into the lives of socially disadvantaged communities and notably, it was among the first to offer full fee exemptions to meritorious female students. The college offers a variety of undergraduate courses in arts, commerce, and sciences, alongside postgraduate programs. At the undergraduate level, students can opt for BA, B.Com, B.Sc., or vocational courses, with options to specialize in various combinations. Postgraduate offerings include courses like M.Sc. in several branches such as Computers and Zoology, MA in Economics, and M.Com. Vocational training in fields like Multimedia and Web Technology is also available. Many programs are taught in both English and Telugu. Pithapur Rajah’s College is proactive in job placements, working with JKC and TISS to facilitate both on-campus and off-campus placement drives. The college has recorded over 1700 successful placements in reputed IT companies such as Satyam, Wipro, TCS, and Infosys. Additionally, scholarships are available for diverse groups, including single girls, orphaned students, and national-level athletes, providing financial aid to students from SC/ST/OBC backgrounds as well.
