Presidency University, set up by the Presidency Group of Institutions (PGI), consists of seven schools and a college. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in fields such as information technology, commerce, management, and journalism. The schools cater to both national and international academic boards. In less than 40 years, PGI has established itself as one of Bengaluru's premier educational institutions. The university aims to quickly rank among the world's top universities by focusing on research-driven teaching methods, modern infrastructure, and an industry-relevant curriculum that drives actions towards excellence. Located in Bangalore, Karnataka, the Presidency University School of Management, affiliated with the university, was founded in 1976 with the approval of the Karnataka government. In the CSR-GHRDC B-School survey of 2017, it was placed 23rd among all B-Schools in India. Admissions are based on scores from competitive entrance exams. At the School of Management, various MBA programs are available, including specializations in Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain Management, and Human Resource Management. Applicants must have a minimum of 50% in any Bachelor's degree and a valid score in national entrance exams like CAT, MAT, NMAT, or XAT to qualify for a seat. The selection process evaluates academic achievements from class 10th, 12th, and graduation, entrance exam scores, personal interviews, Written Ability Tests (WAT), and work experience. Extracurricular achievements are also considered. The placement cell provides strong opportunities through skills training, certification programs, and preparation for placements. Prominent company interactions take place during the Summer Internship Program (SIP) and final internships. Companies like Decathlon, Byju’s, Patanjali, and Kotak Mahindra Bank visit the campus, with the highest package reaching INR 9 Lakhs and an average package of INR 5.5 Lakhs. The university is celebrated for its ranking achievements, including its position among India's top educational institutions for both infrastructure and academics.
