Al-Azhar Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital, located in Thodupuzha, Kerala, is a private institution established in 2014. It is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC) for its medical programs. While the college is steadily building its reputation, it is not currently featured in the top national rankings like the NIRF as of the 2025 cycle. The primary course offered is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). For the 2025 academic session, admissions will be conducted based on the candidate's NEET-UG rank. The seat allocation will be managed through the centralised counselling process overseen by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. Prospective students should note that the annual tuition fee for the MBBS program under the general merit quota for the 2025 intake is projected to be around INR 7.65 lakhs. After completing their academic years, medical graduates must undertake a mandatory one-year compulsory rotating residential internship (CRRI). It is anticipated that for the batch concluding in 2026, students will complete their internship at the attached super speciality hospital, which provides diverse, hands-on clinical exposure. The projected monthly stipend for interns during this period is approximately INR 28,500. This practical training is crucial before they are awarded their medical license.
