Established in 2013, VIMS is affiliated with the Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna, and holds the essential approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC), which is crucial for any medical institution in India. As regulatory bodies like NIRF have not yet released official rankings for 2025 or 2026, students should focus on its NMC recognition and state-level reputation. The primary course offered here is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Admission is highly competitive and is based on your NEET UG score, with counselling managed by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). The college has an annual intake of 120 students for its MBBS program. Being a government college, the fees are very affordable. For the upcoming 2025-26 academic session, the annual tuition fee is expected to be around INR 15,400, although this is subject to revision by state authorities. Unlike engineering colleges, medical institutions don't have traditional placement drives. After completing the 4.5-year course, students undertake a mandatory one-year paid rotating internship, for which the stipend is governed by state policy. While specific career statistics for the 2025 or 2026 graduating batches are not available yet, graduates typically go on to prepare for postgraduate entrance exams like NEET-PG to pursue specialisations or join as medical officers in government and private healthcare facilities.
