Established in 1999 and taken over by the Government of Kerala, Government Medical College, Ernakulam is a well-regarded institution affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and fully recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). For the upcoming 2025 academic year, the college is projected to hold a position around the 85th rank in the medical category as per national institutional rankings, reflecting its consistent academic standards. The college's flagship program is, of course, the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
