Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College, located in Pollachi, was founded in 1997, coinciding with India's Golden Jubilee of Independence. It operates as a self-financed, co-educational institution initiated by the V.S.V. Vidhyaa Mandir, a charitable trust that had been thriving for 16 years at the time. Their goal was to address the need for higher education among the rural youth in and around Pollachi, offering them access to quality collegiate education.
