Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, or VJTI, stands as one of Mumbai's oldest engineering institutes, established way back in 1887. This public technical research institute is funded by the Government of Maharashtra and holds approvals from AICTE. In the 2025 rankings, VJTI secured a spot within the 101-150 range according to NIRF and was placed 93rd by Collegedunia in the B.Tech category. VJTI's key offering is its B.Tech program, available in various specializations. Admissions to these programs are determined by performance in the MHT CET, followed by seat allocation through CAP counseling rounds. The MHT CET cutoff for 2025 for the open category spans from 97.33% to 99.95%. During the placement season for 2025, VJTI Mumbai saw an average placement rate of 82% for its B.Tech graduates. In terms of earning potential, the highest package was INR 54 LPA, notably achieved by a student from the B.Tech Computer Engineering branch. A total of 444 students secured positions at renowned companies such as Aakash, Byju's, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, HDFC Bank, and JLL. However, the placement drive for students who remain unplaced is still in progress.
