Mewar University, established by the Mewar Education Society in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, is an autonomous institution formed through a 2008 ordinance by the Rajasthan Government, later passed as Act No. 4 in 2009. It received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956, empowering it to award degrees per section 22(1) of the UGC Act. Recorded under the letter No. F.9-15/2009 (CPP-I) on 30th March 2009, it also holds membership in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Additionally, Mewar University is approved under section 12B of the UGC Act and has achieved an 'A' grade from NAAC. The university's programs are acknowledged by various Indian Government Statutory Regulatory Authorities, like the Bar Council of India and the Pharmacy Council of India, among others. It further adheres to standards set by bodies such as IAP, NSS, and AICTE. It holds approvals from the National Council for Vocational Education and Training, the Ministry of Skill Development, and several others for demonstrating quality education. Mewar University offers a wide range of UG, PG, Diploma, and Ph.D. courses across numerous fields including B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Law, to name a few. It collaborates with industries for skills training and apprenticeships, notably partnering with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. for Mahindra Tractor Skill Development.
