The National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa), recognized as an Institute of National Importance, was founded in 2010. Known for its flagship BTech program, NIT Goa offers a range of specializations. It is ranked 75th for BTech by Collegedunia, while NIRF places it in the 101-150 ranking band. Admissions to the BTech program at NIT Goa are determined by JEE Mains ranks for Indian students and through DASA for international students. JoSAA manages counseling for 224 BTech seats, and the annual fee for the first year is INR 1.47 lakhs. According to the June 2024 placement report, the highest offered package for BTech and MTech students is INR 20 LPA, with the average package for BTech being INR 9.24 LPA. Over 160 companies participated in the placements, giving out more than 220 offers. The emerging branches CVE and MCE saw their second batch reach an average salary of about INR 8.5 LPA, contributing to the overall average package figure. NIT Goa also provides numerous scholarship opportunities, such as the Goa Shipyard Ltd. Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC students, Post Matric Scholarship, Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana, the National Scholarship for Higher Education for ST students, and the Global Korea Scholarship for M.Tech. and Ph.D. students. The NIT Goa campus is equipped with separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, accommodating 275 and 825 students respectively.
