Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) in Patna was established by the Government of Bihar to develop and manage education infrastructure related to technical, medical, management, and other professional fields in the state. AKU offers a variety of courses across different specializations in these areas. At the undergraduate level, the university provides courses like B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, and BAMS, while postgraduate options include M.Tech, MS, MD, MBA, and MSc. Additionally, AKU offers doctoral programs in diverse research fields. Admissions to these programs are mostly through the university's entrance examination or national-level exams. For some courses, admission is purely based on the candidates' performance in their previous qualifying exams. The placement opportunities at AKU Patna have been improving annually. In the 2021 placement season, approximately 60% of the students secured jobs in the IT sector, with an average salary package ranging from INR 3 to 4 LPA.
