Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK) is a public university that got its start in 1946 as The College of Engineering, Vizagapatnam. The institution was ranked 317 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) among universities back in 2019. JNTUK is supported by three constituent colleges: University College of Engineering, Kakinada; University College of Engineering, Vizianagaram; and University College of Engineering, Narasaraopet. Located in the East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, this university is spread across 110 acres. Since its establishment, JNTUK has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and operates autonomously. In 2023, it achieved a rank of 101 both in the overall category and the engineering category according to NIRF. The university offers an array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs including B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, MBA, and MCA. Students interested in research can also pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) across different specializations. Courses are conducted through various specialized schools: School of Management Studies, School of Health Sciences and Research, School of Pharmacy Life Sciences Research, School of Renewable Energy & Environment, School of Food Technology, School of Biotechnology, and the School of Soft Skills & Public Relations.
