Government College of Technology (GCT) in Tamil Nadu, established in 1945, is recognized by the NAAC and NBA. In 2024, it was ranked 79th in the engineering category by IIRF, while NIRF placed it in the 201-300 range in the same category. GCT provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs, with the primary degree being B.E. The college offers a B.E. program with eight specializations. Admission to these courses is done through TNEA Counselling, and for 2024, the TNEA cutoff ranks for other categories were between 5344 and 24962. The cost for the B.E. program at GCT varies between INR 2.2 and 3.48 lakhs. The placement report for 2025 is yet to be released, but the 2024 report shows 728 students graduated, and 358 were placed.
