The Institute of Hotel Management in Shillong offers several facilities to students. Among these, hostel accommodation has been available for both girls and boys since the academic session of 2018-19. The hostel seats are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. Each student is provided with a sleeping cot, cupboard, writing table, and chair. However, they need to bring along their own mattress, pillow, and personal items like a mug and bucket. A one-year advance hostel fee, along with a security deposit, is necessary for booking the accommodation. Furthermore, the Government of Meghalaya has provided the Yatri Niwas, which is centrally funded, to the institute. This facility is used as a training hotel, aimed at developing skilled manpower to support the tourism and hotel industry comprehensively.
