Narula Institute of Technology (NIT) in Kolkata is an independent engineering and management institution, which began under the JIS Group Educational Initiatives in 2001. Located in Agarpara, Kolkata, it is affiliated with MAKAUT, West Bengal, and its technical programs have AICTE approval. NIT is recognized for maintaining academic quality, being ranked by the NIRF (MHRD, GoI) from 2017 to 2022 and again in 2024, and it was also recognized in the NIRF Innovation Rankings 2023. The institute offers degree programs in both Engineering and Management under MAKAUT. This includes B.Tech, M.Tech, as well as Business Administration programs like BBA, BCA, and MCA, all of which hold NBA accreditation. It also offers diploma programs affiliated with WBSCT&VE&SD. NIT has been awarded NAAC 'A' accreditation and is acknowledged by UGC under Clauses 2(f) and 12(b), allowing it to receive Central Government Funding. It is the first private engineering college in Eastern India to achieve QS International Rating status. NIT has also garnered several awards, being recognized as the Best Private Engineering College in West Bengal.
