The college provides four-year B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). The Applied Sciences department hosts subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Workshop training, ensuring a firm foundational understanding for students. Each of these B.Tech courses is NBA-accredited and holds Grade-A rankings, indicative of the institute’s commitment to delivering quality education. Established in 1979 by the Surajmal Memorial Education Society, MSIT started offering B.Tech programs in 2000–2001 following the approval from AICTE. The college has a capacity of 780 students and conducts classes in morning and evening shifts, with dedicated faculty for each. Spread over an eight-acre campus, MSIT was ranked between 201-300 in the NIRF Engineering rankings for 2024. Admissions to the B.Tech courses are based on the JEE Mains Paper 1 scores, while applicants for the Applied Sciences must clear the IPU CET exam. Students looking for lateral entry after a B.Sc. also need to clear IPU CET. The college reserves 85% of its seats for students from the Delhi region, with 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. MSIT's placement cell is active in linking students with top recruiters. In 2024, the highest salary package offered was INR 50 LPA, with an average of INR 8 LPA. These figures marked a decline from the preceding year’s INR 72 LPA and INR 11.14 LPA averages. Notable companies like Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Amazon, and Libsys frequently recruit from MSIT.
