

Kumaraguru College of Technology, commonly referred to as KCT, was founded in 1984 in Coimbatore. It is an autonomous institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE. In 2024, NIRF ranked it between 151-200, while IIRF placed it 66th among engineering colleges. KCT offers a range of regular and certification courses across UG, PG, and research levels, including Technology, Commerce, and Humanities, with B.Tech being its flagship program. The college provides 14 undergraduate (BE and B.Tech) and 15 postgraduate programs (MCA, MBA, M.Tech, and ME) in various departments such as AI and Data Science, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Information Science and Engineering. It also has 9 recognized research programs. Admissions are based on entrance exams conducted by the college and the merits of the qualifying exams. BE and B.Tech admissions depend on JEE Mains or TNEA scores, while M.Tech, MBA, and MCA require TANCET or GATE scores. PhD candidates must clear a national level entrance exam followed by an interview. For the 2024-2025 session, B.Tech fees at KCT range from INR 2.2 to 4.01 Lakhs, depending on the branch. The placement report for 2024-2025 indicates that in 2024, 90% of students were placed, with 911 out of 1009 registered students securing jobs. However, in 2025, the placement rate slightly decreased to 85%, with 832 out of 981 students placed. Most students were employed in core (233) and product-based (155) companies during 2024-2025.
