

Bangalore Institute of Technology, commonly known as BIT, was founded in 1979. In the B.Tech category for 2025, it achieved a rank of 194 out of 762 colleges, according to Collegedunia. In 2024, it held the 27th position out of 245, and THE WEEK ranked it 4th in Bangalore. Affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and approved by AICTE, BIT is notable for its flagship B.E. program. This program offers specializations such as CSE, Data Science, AI & ML, IoT & Cybersecurity (including Blockchain), Information Science & Engineering, Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, ECE, E&TC, EEE, VLSI, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering. The institute also provides M.Tech, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. Admission to BIT’s B.E. courses relies on scores from KCET, COMEDK, and JEE Main, followed by counseling. For M.Tech, entry is based on GATE or Karnataka PGCET scores, again followed by counseling. Management seats can also be availed through donation. The average fee for the B.E. program is INR 10.64 lakhs, while the M.Tech fee stands at INR 1.51 lakhs. For Ph.D. and MCA, the fees are INR 1.5 lakhs and INR 1.2 lakhs respectively. Though the 2025 placement report isn't out, the 2024 drive showed promising results, with an average package of INR 10 LPA, peaking at INR 58 LPA in the B.E. department. Notable recruiters include Boeing, Dell, MathCo, Oracle, Amazon, NVIDIA, IBM, among others. In 2024, 528 students secured job offers during the campus placements at BIT Bangalore.
