

BLDEA V.P. Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology, commonly known as BLDEACET, was founded in 1980 by the Bijapur Liberal District Education Association. This institution is connected to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and is recognized by both the Government of Karnataka and AICTE. Furthermore, it holds accreditation from the NBA and a prestigious 'A' grade from NAAC. The college has garnered significant recognition over the years. It ranked 30th among 175 engineering colleges across India in The Times Engineering Ranking 2025. In Architecture, it achieved the 34th position out of 62 colleges, based on the IIRF Ranking 2025. The flagship Bachelor of Engineering (BE) program at BLDEA has tuition fees ranging from INR 5.6 to 14.4 lakhs, depending on the specialization. To be eligible for admission, students must have completed their 12th grade with Physics, Mathematics, and an optional subject like Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science, securing at least 45% aggregate in optional subjects, with English as one of the languages. Selection is primarily based on the KCET scores. While the placement data for 2025 is not yet out, for the 2023-24 session, 438 students were placed. The highest package offered was INR 28 LPA, with an average package of INR 6.26 LPA and the lowest of INR 2.4 LPA. The CSE department led with 143 placements, whereas the Civil department had the fewest, with just 14. Top recruiters include Juspay, Synopsys, Micron Technologies, Cadence, Versa Networks, Infosys, IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Nvidia, DXC Technology, Capgemini, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Siemens, Intellipaat, Skolar Edtech, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, and Bharat Electronics Ltd.
