Dr. N. G. P. Arts and Science College was set up by the Dr. N. G. P. Research and Educational Trust (previously known as Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust) in Coimbatore in 1997. Over the years, it has emerged as one of the prominent self-financing academic institutions. The college gained autonomy from the UGC in the academic year 2015-2016 and is affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. It has earned an 'A++' accreditation from NAAC in its third cycle and holds the 75th rank according to NIRF. DRNGPASC is a co-ed, self-financed institution providing a wide array of educational programs. The college offers 30 undergraduate courses, 17 postgraduate courses, 12 research (Ph.D.) programs, along with 4 postgraduate diplomas and 7 diploma courses, all distributed among 32 established departments across six faculties. For admissions, undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, and certificate courses are based on the candidate's scores in the qualifying exams. For research-focused courses, candidates need to pass an entrance exam conducted by the college followed by an interview. Popular courses like B.Com, B.Sc, and M.Sc require aspirants to have completed 10+2 from a recognized board. The fee for these courses at DRNGPASC ranges from INR 72,000 to INR 3 lakhs.
