The Army Institute of Nursing in Guwahati, commonly called AIN Guwahati, was set up in 2006, mainly to serve the educational needs of the children of army personnel and ex-service members. It is affiliated with the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) situated in Guwahati. AIN Guwahati has received approval from the Indian Nursing Council, the Assam Nurses' Midwives and Health Visitors Council, and the Army Welfare Education Society. As per the IIRF's 2023 rankings, it holds the 46th position among 300 nursing schools. AIN Guwahati offers B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, respectively. Admission to these courses depends on performance in entrance exams. For the B.Sc Nursing course, candidates are evaluated based on their 10+2 results and a specific entrance exam conducted by the institute. Those aspiring to join the M.Sc course must possess a graduate degree in the relevant field and appear for the PG-WAT. The fees for the first year of the B.Sc (Nursing) and M.Sc programs at AIN Guwahati are INR 94,658 and INR 1.48 lakhs, respectively.
