Vinayaka Mission's College of Pharmacy (VMCP) in Salem was founded in 1982 as the inaugural institution of the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. The college's mission is to serve as a collaborative platform for pharmacy students across India, helping them unlock their full potential and elevate the pharmacy profession. VMCP boasts a multi-story, independently designed building nestled at the picturesque foothills of Yercaud, complete with excellent infrastructural facilities. It is approved and recognized by the Government and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). VMCP is a private university, widely acknowledged by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It houses a substantial collection of 5,568 books. The college is conveniently located, only 12 kilometers away from the Salem Junction Railway station. VMCP stands out for several reasons. Firstly, its National Service Scheme engages in community service activities such as the regular cleaning of vegetable and fruit markets, alongside food adulteration and safety awareness programs conducted in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation and Consumer Protection Council. The college's NSS unit, in partnership with the Lions Club of Thiruporur, Velachery, and the Tamil Nadu Public Health Department, has organized blood donation camps, successfully donating over 900 units of blood. In terms of student support, the placement department at VMCP is vital in facilitating job opportunities across various government and corporate sectors. They also focus on personality development programs to supplement students' education and prepare them for the workforce.
