Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, commonly called MNLU Mumbai, came into existence in 2014. It has the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI) and is acknowledged by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Earning an A+ grade from NAAC in 2025, MNLU Mumbai stood 8th in the Collegedunia rankings, while the IIRF placed it at 23rd in the law category. This university offers a range of programs including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses like BA LLB, LLM, MA, Ph.D. in Law, and PG Diploma. To enroll in the BA LLB program, candidates must have cleared the 10+2 or an equivalent exam with at least 45% marks, or 40% for reserved categories. For admission into the LLM program, candidates should hold an LLB or an integrated LLB degree with at least 50% marks, with the threshold at 45% for SC/ST/PwD. Admission for both programs is based on scores from the CLAT UG and CLAT PG exams respectively. In 2025, the cutoff for the general category CLAT UG was 536. The total fees for the BA LLB course amount to INR 10.21 Lakhs. The placement report for 2025 is yet to be published, but back in 2024, the median salary for UG students was INR 10 LPA, with 35 out of 107 students securing placements.
